In 2008, she became Kammersangerin with the title”honoured. The singer born in Israel, lives and works in Cologne. After studying at the Academy of music in Munich, she was engaged at the Studio of the Vienna State Opera (1988-1990). As a young singer, she worked with renowned Conductors such as Georg Solti, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Barenboim and James Levine. Dalia Schachter appeared at the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera under den Linden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, at the Theatre de Chatelet in Paris and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and at the Salzburg Festival and the Bayreuth Festival. Dalia Schachter was raised in a kibbutz in Israel.

Life there was marked by the hard years of development and the necessary integration into the community. So she says: it was discussed on principles and policy on Marxism and the community education of children. You did not talk about feelings. But you could sing about feelings. “For hours, on the field, while working in the Kibbuz-laundry or in the community kitchen, dinner out loud, in the shower or on the way to the dining room.” For the singer, singing in this way was very early for an outlet for their feelings: I quickly realized that you can sing things that are unspeakable, that singing a Act of communication is. Clearly said I could say my pain … but I could sing my pain! And so I did. All day long.” Dalia mohel life is closely intertwined with the liberating and healing effects of music and singing. As a musical Ambassador, she shares therefore the concern of singing hospitals e.V., to provide sick people with the common singing a means of communication which immediately impact internally and externally. As singer being active means for her luck: I felt it was a privilege and I feel it today so whether in the kibbutz dining hall or on the Opera stage: I can communicate with my singing. It’s luck. In this sense, nothing has changed since my early childhood.
